BIO
Michael Lashe’s entire life has centered around civil unrest and the fight for racial justice. Born in London, England to two Black Brits, his mother was a police officer and his father spent 10 years in prison for public vandalization and gang violence. They passed away during the London protest explosion of 2071, leaving a young Michael Lashe to live with his grandparents.
With a knack for robotics and engineering, Michael was encouraged to pursue STEM. He often ran home from school and studied subjects not taught in his classes. He fixed his grandparents cars and cleaning robots, later developing his own to do the dirty work.
Michael spent his teenage years attending virtual-reality classes at Oxford, later becoming a teacher assistant. His request to conduct his own research was swiftly denied, his ideas “not having a practical purpose or basis” in the eyes of the university — he wished to develop a membrane for his robot creations called Sentients, with the hope of developing a racially unbiased police force to improve his country’s chaotic cities.
Upon leaving Oxford, Michael was inspired by The United States’ 2050s Superhero boom to spread the word of justice. He spent every day and night working on his Sentients, and a suit to protect himself from police tasers and firearms.
On September 19th, 2086, Michael returned to London for the first time since his parents’ demise. The world watched in awe as he revealed himself, leading 300 Sentients and thousands of supporters to the front steps of Parliament. Britain's long-reigning monarchy was overthrown.
Michael went on to win the key to the city, attaining other accolades such as “The First Black Superhero” and “Europe’s Man of the Year.” He worked alongside other Superheroes in the United States, including The Great Black Wasp of Bostonia and an all-female supergroup called The 12 Supes of Seattle. He later became the face of Verissimus Comix’s The Brilliant Adventures of Michael Lashe.
PERSONALITY
Nerdy. Comic book collector, preferring the cheesy “oldies” like Flash Gordon than the “grounded, realistic ones” like The Watchmen. Loves to think about new tech.
Has a massive ego. Loves being first.
Girl-crazy. Imagines an entire life with a stranger just by looking at them.
Spends an abundance of his time watching movies.
Gets excited easily. Rambler.
Tends to play “Devil’s Advocate” in group discussions. Loves politics. Hates “degenerates.”
Asks many questions. Likes to debate and talks big.
Polite and respectful.
Works himself into the ground. Goes to bed early to work out in the morning. Big eater.
Has a heavy British accent, becoming stronger when he’s angry, with “bullocks” and “bloody” being his go-to swear words.
Doodles new Superhero suits and robot schematics often.
Stands up for others and what he believes is right. Marches to the beat of his own drum.
CURRENT WHEREABOUTS
December 28th, 2022, taking a stroll in Kensington Gardens with an umbrella, asking punk kids to share their opinions on the late Queen and Princess Diana.
QUOTES
“I mean, you’ve got to be joking, right? You’re freakin’ joking, RIGHT?!”
“May god strike me down on that Parliament floor and call my creations blasphemous!”
“Is it alright if I hold you? I just . . . I just really like holding you.”
“Don’t you find this a little disrespectful?” I mean, c’mon now.
MESSAGE BOARD
Q1) Overthrowing a monarchy is great, but doesn't that raise the possibility that you (or someone else) will step in as de-facto monarch or leader? Do you think it should be you?
A1) Of course that’s a possibility! It sounds as if you think I haven’t considered this!
My Sentients are my contingents, but they are unbiased, and are programmed to ward off anyone who seeks pure domination and control over the great country that is England. I mean, if anyone was to become a monarch or lead a revolution to achieve one (including myself, which would NEVER happen), the Sentients would bring about their incarceration, and the proper steps would be carried out to prevent such a plot from occurring again.
And no, I do not believe I would make a great King. I think I’d drown in my self-loathing, holding such a profession. My life’s mission is to serve people after all, as opposed to them serving me.
